ScripTalk Talking Prescriptions Awarded by Veterans Group
Washington D.C. - June 19, 2002 - En-Vision America, Inc. has been awarded the 2002 George Alexander Volunteer award by the Blinded American Veteran Foundation (BAVF) for the contributions of its newest ScripTalk Talking Prescription product.
The ScripTalk System includes a tiny microchip embedded in the prescription label that is printed and programmed by a pharmacy's computer system. At home, the patient uses a handheld ScripTalk Reader that reads the information stored on the microchip and speaks the label information to the patient. The Department of Veterans Affairs is planning to incorporate this technology into its existing pharmacies in fiscal year 2003.
"This technology is a real breakthrough for individuals who have difficulty reading their pharmacy labels." Said John Fales, President of the BAVF. "The prescription benefits provided by the VA are life-saving, and ScripTalk will help our nation's vets take these medications more safely."
"We are absolutely thrilled to receive this esteemed award from the BAVF," said David Raistrick, Vice President of En-Vision America. "ScripTalk continues to climb in popularity not only with veterans across the U.S., but with folks in the private sector as well."
